And my surprising answer
Hi there! I couldn’t be happier that you’ve chosen to read what I’m putting into the world. I pour out my words here every week to help you learn to experience God’s presence in everyday moments and explore ways to develop your life so that it can be formed by the fruit of the Spirit. Trust me, friend. You’re in the right place.
Most Asked Questions
Over the past year, since the release of Finding Everyday Fruit, the question I’ve been asked most (hands-down), outside of “how are you feeling?”, has been,
“When are you writing another book?”
Y’all. These last two years have been so wild that I haven’t been interested in writing another book at all. As in, absolutely not. (Too honest?)
And if I may continue to be 100% honest, part of that is because the overall response to the book’s launch last year wasn’t…well…wasn’t what I expected. (To no one’s fault, and for those of you who have cheered and championed and purchased it, that is certainly not directed at you!)
I know full well it’s a very niche thing and quite a risk to write a book about experiencing the fruit of a spirit-filled life and to tie it to a Hawaiian theme. I get it. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea… and mainstream has let me know. BUT…I am still so proud of Finding Everyday Fruit, if for no other reason than it’s a testament to the Lord’s faithfulness and to how He helped me realize that I can do hard things (AKA write, edit, complete, publish, and market a book in the middle of a traumatic brain injury). **
So that’s part of the hesitation.
The follow-up to “When are you writing another book?” is sometimes “Will your next book be about your TBI experience?”
Um, no.
(And since I’ve already been a bit more vulnerable here today, I’m not afraid to remind you that I also wrote a way-too-honest informative post about that follow-up question HERE a number of months ago, if you are interested in knowing more about how I really feel about that.)
All said, I’m having a bit of a hard time thinking about publishing another book right now, but that doesn’t mean never.
((Cue the big booming voice in the background and dramatic music.))
Never say never.
My Surprising Answer
Last August, I wrote a six-part series here on Substack titled “The Launch” about our last baby Eagle graduating from high school and flying the nest. It chronicled the final six days before he left for college, and you were gracious enough to let me process all that emotion out loud in real time right here on Substack.
And you loved it.
So.
I am working on turning that six-part series into an e-book that will be available on Amazon in just a few weeks.
It will include all the original content PLUS some never-before-released additional content that I believe will be helpful for anyone with Eagles who have just graduated from high school, are preparing to launch in the fall, or whose Eagles have fully left the nest on their way to baby-adult life and adventures.
Once it's available, it would mean the world to me if you would share the mess out of it on all your social platforms, community circles, etc., so that as many people as possible can find it and be encouraged by it. (Especially those of you who are in the middle of launching seasons.)
For now, this is the next book, and I’m really excited to see what happens from here.
I’ll be sure to keep you posted on The Launch and its availability. Please know I’m beyond grateful for your ongoing support and for the way you’ve rallied around Waiting On Wonders, Finding Everyday Fruit, this Substack, and soon, The Launch.
Beautiful things ahead.

**If you have NOT read Finding Everyday Fruit, I personally guarantee you will love the content. If you buy it from my website, read it, and aren't challenged or changed by the content, I’ll refund your money. That’s how much I believe in it.
I hope this little newsletter reminds you that He always wants to teach you and point your heart toward His (even through vulnerable stories about the writing process). His presence and the fruit of a Spirit-filled life are available to you in everyday moments if you’re willing to raise your awareness to them.
Much love,
-TLB

I love that sometimes we are just called to obedience in creating the niche work, no matter where it may land… numbers say one thing, but how could we possibly ever measure lives impacted (or see, or know?) Thank you for your honesty. I look forward to everything that’s next!
Really appreciate you sharing this, Tara...
